Here's a picture of my 1984 Team Pro forks. This was taken by the former owner who acquired the bikes with all Campy SR components.

I swapped him a 58cm 1985-86 Professional frame for this 54.5cm 1984 Team Pro which was too small for him.

Here it sits with baited breath waiting to hit the road again.

When I get around to it, I'm going to build it up with all French components.

BTW, the mystery numbers on the bottom bracket are 75916 55 12 3 8

My guess is that 75916 was an internal Gitane production number, 55 the size and it was built on 12-8-1983??? Confused

There's just no logic to Gitane numbers!

So lofter, maybe your's and mine are cousins, 510 bikes apart!

So going by my guesses:

bowser's frame 15406 is a 60cm made on 11-3-1983

My frame 759516 is a 55cm made on 12-8-1983

lofter's frame 75406 is a 57cm made on... oh never mind! There's just no logic to Gitane numbers! Confused

Bowser,

Excellent job, great photos too. That blue is very striking and so iconic with these machines.

Enjoy the first proper ride.

Tim
