As for the down tube decal, I think that Gitane made two types (at a minimum), one with the underline, and one without. I have seen a bunch of bikes (original) that do not have the underline under the Gitane logo. |

This may well be true as the set that I received has decals with three distinct forms of manufacture. The head tube, chain stay and fork decals are peel and stick. The DT is peel/stick/peel (solid sheet) and the ST is peel/stick/peel not being a solid sheet but die cut transfer of logo/design. This seat tube decal appears to be the oldest of them.
I will email Monique in the Gitane Graphics Dept. and ask for clarification. While she's in her 60's, she may remember.
