Gitane used those style decals in 1984 and again on the 1987 Team Pro.
The track bike in the 1984 US Gitane catalog is the Kilo model and it's black. Also, it appears to have fastback seat stays like all of the better 1984 Gitane models.
Looks like maybe Greg Softly had a French customer... |

The track bike above has the thin willow leaf seatstay caps like those used on this 1979 Gitane Team bike below.
The track bike pictured above has TA crank arms with a Stronglight 49 road chainring (there are holes for an inner chainring for a road double).
It appears to have been kludged with components from different years: seatpost, stem, pedals, cranks... |

i remember awhile ago there was a mid 80s track bike for sale on ebay in germany i think. but i cant remember if it had fast back stays or not . |
