Unfortunately I dont have any images but the seller assures me it has half chromed rear stays as well as the usual front forks. It has a simplex groupset and sounds like the rear dropouts are stamped rather than forged higher quality campag or simplex ones, though I havent been able to view the bike yet Has anyone ever seen a model below TDF/Super Corsa that had the chromed rear stays? From the description it sounds identical to my Interclub in all other aspects. Hi zootsuit - The '73 French catalog on this site shows several models with chromed rear stays, including the Paris, Federal and Aspin. Gitane made a lot of different models for the French and other European markets and auchencrow points out some of them from the 1973 French catalog. In the early 70s Gitane used some cheap Simplex rear dropouts without derailleur hangers on Tour de France frames. They had chrome plated socks on the rear triangle. The dropouts were forged not stamped. Simplex Ref 881 dropouts. 1971 Simplex Catalog showing the Ref 881 dropouts. I suspect that these were substituted for the standard Simplex dropouts because of availability issues. That was a frequent problem with components during the Bike Boom days. Standard Simplex dropouts used from the early 1970s until 1974 when they switched to the Huret honeycomb dropouts. _________________ Chas. I think it may be a Paris-Nice, it matches the red/purple colour and has the bubble lettering decals.it also has the blumels mudguards. What's the quality of these framesets like? The shifters look like some Huret's that I took off a parts bike.
