When selling your bike, the really important measurements for any ad are the seat tube length and top tube length. Frames are usually referred to (size wise) by their seat tube length, measured in centimeters, from the center of the bottom bracket to the center of the intersection of the seat tube and top tube. This is referred to as "center to center" measurement. Gitane always listed CtC measurements, in centimeters. Others have done "center to top" measurement, which is from the center of the bottom bracket to the top of the seat tube.
If you are selling a frame only, the above applies, but also add measurements for:
(1) The wheel size (700c or 27")
(2) The rear dropout spacing
(3) The seat post required
(4) The threading (English, French, or Italian)
(5) The diameter of the steerer tube.
