Looks prety rough, but has some definite Gitane tell-tale signs. I like the honeycomb drop-outs.

Got any more pictures?

Looks like if it's straight and in good shape structurally, it would be fun to media blast it and start shopping for a cool paint color.

Actually a quality bike that could be fixed up quite well. It's a high-end gitane, and I will bet that if you strip the paint, you'll find the Reynolds tubing stamps in the metal!

The chrome looks pretty ratty! Shocked

Good candidate for a "rattle can" paint job.

Sandblast the entire frame (chrome & all).

Thin layer of primer, thin layer of paint to cover then clear coat.

New decals from Cyclomondo.

You asked and I've responded... Wink

Could be either or neither...

Frame is probably from 1976-77. During those years, the top line Gitanes had long point lugs, usually with cutouts, Bocama Super Professionals or Prugnat.

Bocama

Prugnat

This frame has medium point Bocama lugs like used on Interclubs

Measure the stack height capacity of the steering tube and that will tell you a lot.
