Greetings respected forum members,
i need help in identifying the bike from pictures. I have the opportunity to buy it, and probably will, but would like to know who is this model.
I do not have a better picture, but I hope that you will succeed to reveal the model.

Thanks all for your help.

Greetings,

It's difficult to identify the bike without seeing the right side to look at the derailleurs and cranks.

Where is the bike located? What country?

It looks like a 1975 or 1976 Interclub with Sugino Maxi cranks and medium point Bocama professional lugs.

Someone has changed the brakes from MAFAC center pulls to Universal 68 side pulls.

It could be some other European model too.

Bicycle is in the Croatia, although I think it is brought from some other European countries. It will serve as city bike to me. I thought taket it apart and clean thoroughly, lubricate the drive.
By catalog seemed to me that from the 74, but now I have new information, so I'll have to study a little history Gitane's.

Thanks a lot for your information. If I go into a "project" I'll probably have lots of questions for you.
Kind regards.

looks like an interclub. 1974 seems about right.

The 1974-1975 Gitanes used these head tube decals:

In 1976 Gitane decals changed to this:

The Simplex S001T derailleur on this bike came out later in the 1970s. It could have been a replacement???

The Simplex Prestige derailleurs were more common.

Also, most of the 1974-1976 Interclubs that I saw in the US had Huret Challenger derailleurs.

Now I really do not know if it's something on the bike modified. By catalog when I looked, the last transmission and steering wheel I thought it was maybe even TDF of 74, but it was really guessing. I should go and see it, but it's a 2 hour drive and I still calculate.
For driving around town it would probably be good.
Thank you to all the information.
Still looking for a steel bike, perhaps better, by advertisements, so is why have not decided yet to take it or not.
Kind regards.
