Hello all, I am interested in the bike that B. Hinault used in the 1982 tour. What was the tubing used? What was the component mix and if this particular bike is listed in any catalogues from the period?
I have a frame of similar style with a chrome fork and super vitus 971 decals purchased in Melbourne Australia,in 1983 with arabesque shimano 600 components. It has french threads. I will try to post a pic. soon.
any feedback welcome.
( my computer will not load all the topics in the vintage Gitane thread Sad )

thanks for a great resource for the Gitane owner.
Adrian

Welcome to the site. Can't wait to see the pictures....

Hinaults Gitane in 1982 was built with Reynolds 531 tubing, and would have run Campagnolo Super Record components.
