Indurain,

If you think of a frame as the suspension, springs and shock absorbers, most road bikes are designed to absorb some amount of road shock.

The geometry on track bikes is designed for use on smooth closed course cycling tracks. They have short wheelbases, short chain stays and round forks with very little rake.

Many track riders were/are gorillas with prosciutto (ham, shincken, shunka) sized thighs. A lot of track bikes are made with heavy gage tubes to resist deflection during the frequent all out sprints in track racing. There are only a few track events where light weight bikes are used.

Editorial:

A lot of fixie faddists look for real track bikes and pay exorbitant amounts for them. Most of these folks have recently graduated up from sidewalk shredding on their skate boards and have no idea of how a bike should ride and handle. Rolling Eyes

BTW, Bike's lookin good.

Chas.
