Hello Everyone,

Just found this excellent site becasue I have just been given an old Gitane cycle and wanted to find out more about it.

Not sure of the age or model but looks to be 80s. or maybe 70s, but not sure.

Its a nice old bike though. not the top spec campag model but nice all the same.

Gold reynolds 531 frame Huret Success duralia, Mavic rims, Super Maxy Crank, Weinman 605 brakes.
It looks to of had very little use from new but has been left out in the rain for a year and looking tatty.
Its totally original and unmolested and even still has an old Gitane water bottle. I have taken a few parts off to transport in the photo below.

The big problem is the frame is 60cm and far to beig for me. Anyone want to swap frames for a 53cm one?

Any help much appreciated from a new Gitane vintage fan.

Regards

Paul

Paul,
Have you checked the Catalog section of this site? It appears to be a 1978 "Sprint" 1837.

Wish you could ship it Small Packets from the UK Wink
