I know what you mean. I rode this morning at around 7:00. It was around 50 degrees...

Will be 80 today, clear blue skies. I guess global warming only happens in Southern California.

Sure Wisey...but that is summer for all of you upside-down Aussies! Meanwhile, we are in the dead of winter up here (where things are right-side up!).

Since january 1st we've had the coldest winter in the last 2 decades in France. between -2° and -10° (celcius).

Been riding twice. The last time I went because the snow had melt. Unfortunatley the bicycles-only road was covered with...ice. My balls have shrunk to something like half their original size. Good thing I already have 2 kids.

This past week has set temperature records here in Northern California. It's been in the high 60s (°F) to almost 80° F with Cloudless blue skies.

The downside is that I'm still trying to get over the plague so I haven't been out riding and we're going into the second year of a drought. This is normally our rainy season and so far we've had less than 1/2" (12mm) of rain this month! Sad

I grew up in Southern California...went to college in Northern California (UC Davis), and (for good measure), law school in Illinois.

I have NEVER heard of a year where California was not in a drought. Ever. Let me know what year we had ample rainfall and they pronounced that we were out of a drought, and you will win an "attaboy".

Suffering 80 degree days in January with cloudless skies are just one of the many sacrifices we make living in California. Of course we have to put up with the idiots that make up our state government...and Bay Area hippies and Los Angeles hipsters...but all in all it is a good trade-off.

Edit: Forgot to add...the highest tax rate in the friggin country...but we are still headed for bankruptcy. Idiots. But it is warm.

At my law school orientation, a professor mentioned in front of the incoming class (when talking about the geographically varied student body)...that there were even some students from California, and then added:

"You know what they say about California: God tilted the USA, and all the fruits and nuts rolled to the West Coast".
