Ahh, that's OK Nicolas . We must all have priorities. And after all, it is only the Tour. It's not something really important, like a Star Wars Convention for example.......

Stephan,
Sounds like you had a great time at the race with the exception of the climb, although it must have been a great feeling to have done it.

We were literally right there where that nut was running by. I just got back from Palomar Mtn. today. I brought the Gitane flag...but it didn't get on TV. I was at the summit of Mt Palomar...rode it this morning. What a b*tch of a climb! HC! |
Sounds like it was a great race. |

I am sure the crowds at the Tour de France are much bigger, but I have to say that I was impressed with the number of people who followed the Tour of California this year. Tons of people at the tops of each climb, and a lot along the way as well. |

Stephan,
The race was closely followed by many here in the UK, as was the Tour Down Under. It's so good to see road pro action so early in the season as this is something we just never used to get at this level. Long may it continue.
I hope the legs are holding up after the climb and it's good to know the crowds were healthy.

I got a couple (600+) pics near the finish in Escondido on the 22nd. Pretty overcast though and a crappy lens...
