I just quoted your post. The forks would have been completely chromed and then 1/2 painted. Also, the rear stays were chromed, and then 1/2 painted. If you chip the paint above the chromed area, the chrome will be exposed. However, that isn't on the entire bike (too much weight anyways!), just in those areas that had chromed stays and forks. |

I believe Stephan was refering to the FRAME LUGS on the Head tube and Seat cluster. Yes, it is correct that the Fork was fully Chromed and then painted on the upper 1/2 or so, leaving just 'Chrome Socks' to the drop outs and a Chrome Fork Crown.
