Hello all I have a gitane bike that was givin to me and I am rebuilding it .
Trying to find out what year it is and model what I have is rear derailler is a Suntour GT7 the front is Shwinn,freewheel is a maillaor with 14 28 stem shifters are simplex.the bottom is nervar with cartters holding the cranks on the bar stem has PIVO on the side of it .The chainwheel has 36 x 52 teath no name on it has a crome chain guard .The bike is orange with Gitane on the bottom down tube the cable are partley exposed the housing are short.and it has u pull type brakes. any info will help thank you all.  |

| Looked thru the Catalog sec and came up with two the 75 sport deluxe but some of the parts were diff and the sec was 83 tour de france but then some of the parts were diff.I found # on the bottom but cant find any thing like them D216-7604-1625-8571MD. |

1. The Schwinn front derailleur is surely not original, and the rd also may not be. It's easy to change bike components, and Suntour derailleurs for some years were the standard replacement choice.
2. With cottered cranks it's not an '83 Tour de France. It could be a '70s Gran Sport Deluxe.
