I tried to I.D. it on my own but
I need some help.

Here is what is known.
Bike was purchased in Late 70's
Bike was painted (poorly) and previous owner did'nt recall
the make of the bike.

parts/frame:
Tange Champion No.2 chrome fork
BCM-Bocama Lugs
rear chrome stays w/ red pinstripe marks where it meets the paint
NO serial #
A 73 and 60 stamped into the left side of the head tube- refers to geometry.
Brooks Professional Saddle
Suntour seat post
Shimano Dura Ace brakes
Campagnolo cranks/pedals/clips
Suntour Cyclone derailleurs
700c Rigida Rims to unknown hubs
Suntour Stem and bars.

No serial # and no holes underneath the paint on headtube
made me think it might be a gitane.
Are the top of the seat stays , where the stays meet the top of the seat tube ,flat or does it make a v shape?

Pics are in a FLICKR set.

your help would be much appreciated

the bike will most likely get some new paint/ tires and cables
once I figure what kind of creature it is.

Forgot to add, the sticker showing on the seat tube
is a bike shop decal.

Dan the Village Pedaler
River Falls, WI
It also has Raleigh at the top of the sticker, but
that mustn't been there major brand.
It didn't match up to a Raleigh from what I have seen
in my searches online.

I've never seen a Gitane frame with fluted seat stay caps so it's probably not a Gitane. The chrome on the rear stays stops shorter than what would be found on a 70s Gitane frame. Also the fork in most likely a replacement.

It's probably a French made frame but what make, I have no idea.

It looks like a bike someone assembled from a lot of different parts.

Good luck in identifying the frame.

Chas.
