Nice collection indeed and a super annual event too.

Is this a display of for sale transfers, or just a display?

Thanks for the post.

I believe that is Mel Pinto's collection. He used to be the importer of Gitane in the USA.

I just received this regarding the collection:
Wayne Bingham purchased a bunch of the stuff from Mel Pinto Imports. So it is now his property.

From what I understand, Wayne Bingham purchased MPI (Mel Pinto Imports) or at least the name and inventory earlier this year.

That's a wonderful collection of decals.

Royal Asport bikes were "private label" Gitanes but I think that more than one importer sold them. Caravelle may have been the same thing. Also I'd heard rumors that Gitane made at least some of the Raphael Geminiani bikes.

Chas., Stephan and all,

Wayne did indeed purchase MPI and Mel's remaining inventory. He plans to keep MPI going into the future as a Wholesaler to Dealers and also provide Vintage parts at Retail through his new Shop and forthcoming Web Site "Veloclassique.com". Watch for it!!!

The Decal sets with frame colors were made up by Mel Pinto for use at Shows. Wayne also has some other KEWL display items that Mel used, including one for Ideale Saddles.

Stephan,
Sadly he's not selling it. It's very thin and fragile and going in his new Shop.

It was my plan to go but a major roof leak from a heavy Rain Storm changed that. I didn't want to come home to part of my ceiling on the floor Shocked .
