...and one more reason to hate Levi Leipheimer.

There is a great article about the 1989 Tour de France and Lemond's win in the August edition of Cycle Sport America. If you aren't in the USA and want a scan of it to see...let me know (Nicolas and Wisey!).

Also in the magazine is a PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) advertisement featuring Levi Leipheimer. If you know anything about this group...they are complete and total wackos. While I love animals (they taste great), these guys take it to the extreme and are nuts. If you need examples, I can dig them up. Levi is pictured in the ad holding his dog: Quite frankly a friggin purse dog that makes him look even more pansy than his shaved legs and lycra shorts already do*. Hard to believe. Anyhow, I have never met him, but he just seems to epitomize every negative stereotype about road cyclists.

*Yes, I shave my legs. Yes, I wear lycra. But my friggin dog is a DOG, and doesn't fit in a purse! But yes, it is wearing a pink collar. What can I say, I have all girls....

COME ON!!! Everyone loves Levi. (I actually do. I blame Odessa for putting him up to the ad.)

And little dogs were bred like that for a specific purpose.

A: they fit down rat holes easier.

B: They were easy to carry. People would carry the dog to attract the fleas off of their own body and onto the dog.

So just remember when you see Paris Hilton et all carrying their little dogs... they are just trying to rid themselves of vermin.

Sandman might have all girls, and they might wear pink cow-girl boots Surprised WITH pink polka-dot socks Shocked , and they might put a pansy pink collar on his hound Rolling Eyes , but in Sandman's defence, his little girls play with TONKA TRUCKS! Cool ! Way to go Sandman. Laughing
