It's not a gitane, but we have discussed these bikes here before. Interesting that Guimard actually has his name on the decals.

i am the new owner of this frame. It is a beauty indeed Smile

here is a pic i found on the net showing Thierry Marie on a very similar (or the very same) frame:


I plan to build it up period correct, although i may skip the Corima handlebar combo and the odd seat...

Congrats on the frameset! That is really a neat piece of history, and certainly not a very common bike indeed! Please take some pics and post them to share with us all.

By the way, the saddle was a "faring" made by selle italia that Marie used to win at least one of his tour prologues. They are available from time to time on ebay as well, but are now "outlawed" by UCI rules.
