SOLD!
Another classic saved from fixie purgatory!
I picked up the frame this evening. The seller said that he got it from the original owner who bought it new in 1974.
The chrome and decals are good, the paint is OK. It's 60cm C to T, 58cm C to C with a 58cm top tube.
It has the old style Reynolds 531 French decals on the forks and down tube. Since these were impossible to get back in the day, I have to assume that they are original and it really is a 1974 TdF.
Most of the new style 1974 and 75 TdFs only had the 3 main tubes made of Reynolds 531. Only the forks were chrome plated on most of these bikes.

Hey guys, if anyone ever sees a 58cm bargain like that and isn't interested personally, I'd be happy to reward the person who picks it up on my behalf and arranged to ship it here. I've given up on finding a TdF here. |
