I just bought a bike for my 3 yr old son at a farm sale, i didn't know that 5 other bikes came with it. They are all old 70's and 80's road bikes. Can anyone give me any info on a Gitane grand sport deluxe road bike, i think its from the 70's it looks to be all original i rode the bike and it rode great. I'm going to sell it cause i won't ride it, but I need info on it first, like what would it be worth, where would be a good place to advertise it, years they made this bike, and anything else i could find out about it. Thanks JD |

Most likely an early to mid 1970's vintage bicycle. The Grand Sport DeLuxe was the entry level Gitane, made for commuters and students. They aren't particularly valuable, probably in the $50-$200 range, depending on the condition. Here is a link to the page from the early 1970's catalogue regarding the bicycle:

Don't do that. That would be a pity. I would advertise it on ebay and see if it sells. |
