Hi
In the process of gathering information about my bike I had the opportunity to buy a catalogue of the 1980 line (I'm also an old paper fan). I've scanned and published it in order to share it with other aficionados. Here it is, enjoy :

And all my catalog scans are here

Cheers

Karl,

The Catalog is beautiful. Stephan (Site Owner) may ask you for permission to add it to the Catalog section of this site.

Thank you for posting this.

Kind regards,
Jay

Well...

I wonder if the 1982 UK catalog listed models that were "universal" or those built for the UK market. Any one know the answer?

My area of Gitane experience (notice that I didn't say expertise) covers from the late 60s through about 1976. What I know about 1984, 85 and 86 model Gitanes comes mostly from this site and other internet sources. So, I anxiously await new Gitane info.

But remember, there are absolutely no absolutes in the bike world and "Is it wrong... or just French!". Laughing

Karl, Welcome to the forum. First what a striking Red cycle--and it appears to have been well cared for. I really like the wheelset color. But also what a nice catalog -- and -- a neat site for viewing and paging through the catalog.

Thanks for sharing.

I Like Steel !!!!!

I would have bet money that the bikes we got here were that same as (or even from) the UK. But the stuff I see on ebay here more closely resembles the US products.
