that I am interested in selling. If anyone has some idea of it's value I'd like some feedback. It is Saphire Blue, all Campy, quite nice, decals pretty good. I bought it in '64 at a shop in Arlington VA, did some club racing on it. It hasn't been riden for at least 20 years. I'm not getting younger, when I'm on two wheels it is on a Ducati, yeah, I know, would live longer peddling . .. well, until the heart attack.
Bike is exactly like cat6buz's post from '07. |

Welcome Mike and thanks for the post.
Please could you post photos of your actual machine as this will help the marque experts. I couldn't find the '07 posting as a comparison. Nice to hear that you have owned the bicycle since '64.
Enjoy the motorbike.

Welcome...I couldn't find the post(s) either. Please give us a link...or the poster's name (I did a search and couldn't find "cat6buz"). If you could post pictures of your bike and put the size, that would help too. |

Scott: Nice investigative journalism, I do remember looking at the Lime Green frame posted on that forum ---but I never would have found the link. It is a nice vintage bike. It will be interesting to see if Mike can put up some images in the near future.
It is curious ---where the images from the ??? 1960 Gitane Catalog came from---the posts in that forum seem to credit the Gitaneusa site for those images---

AH HA, my Bad. Edit 5min later
When you look at the 1966 catalog images (the little pop up square says 1960 catalog) so I guess that's how the 1960 catalog date came about.
That really is a nicely preserved bike. |

Somewhere in my house, after all the moves in the past 45 years I am sure there is a catalogue from '64 or a year or two earlier. Was kind of obsessive about that sort of thing . ... |
