It just happens to be a brand new peugeot px10 type of bike with fenders etc. which he put in the basement 30 years ago (everyone in France has big basements with lots of junk) For parts alone it is worth it but can anybody very secretly help me id this one? No photos on this site but sort of under the table identification if only to keep abreast of the competition. It was a TRACK BIKE not a fixie! It was actually a Gitane Super Pista track bike that he'd repainted all white and put Peugeot PX-10 decals on. Apparently he'd worked at a large Peugeot dealer Back East and had access to decals which were impossible to get back then. a rose by any other name... Back in the mid-80's my dad was coveting a red 54cm Vitus 979 frameset at his bike shop. Well...kind of. Cycleurope France is headquartered at the old Peugeot factory at Romilly-sur-Seine. However, the Gitane factory in Machecoul is still running and churning out Gitane bicycles. I don't know if any Gitane branded bicycles come from the Romilly facility.
