Jyri - that bike is turning out fantastic. I'm sure you cannot wait to get out on the road with it.

Beautiful!
I had to look up your weather report. Looks like you could still ride it before winter.
Edited after a second look at your picture. It's outside, no snow, so you did finish it in time. Enjoy! |

Jyri,
The machine's looking great.
The brake calipers are of the sought after '70s version (flat quick release lever) and those brake levers look to be the longer version. The longer levers are very hard to find nowadays, not to mention original globe hoods. Campagnolo's longer levers are very well engineered when on the drops for one or two fingered speed control.
Your front brake looks to be at the minimum reach showing that your clearances are tight. As a matter of interest, Campagnolo made two versions of their Record calipers, the ones you have and the Piccolo. The Piccolo is the version for closer clearances and can be determined by the way 'Brev. Inter.' is engraved on the caliper. Piccolo calipers read 'Brev. Int.'. I have a Piccolo front on one of my machines and even though the braking performance is the same, it just gives extra movement when setting up.
Reach on the Piccolo is 43 to 51mm whereas the standard reach is 51 to 63mm.
Good to see you're enjoying the bike.

Great job! That bike looks fast when it's standing still. Out of curiosity what are you running for gearing. Looks like maybe 52-39 up front and 13-21 or 24 in the rear? My kind of gearing if it is. |

Hi again.
I haven't been around for a while. Sorry for that.
I managed to ride about 50km with this bike and couldn't get that smile off my face for a week. So the winter came and we already have about 5 inches of snow on the ground. It's gonna be about 5 months of waiting before I can take my honey for a ride again.
And yes, the gearing is 39/52 x 13-21. Turned out be very good for road...
