LOL ... but doesn't your stable-of-bicycles live in the protective comfort of your wine cellar? My poor Bennoto gets eventually dinged up/ripped by forget to not lean the bars on scratch walls. The stuff is definitely not rip-stop material!

I have 1 bike with Bennoto tape. From what I can tell the tape has been on these bars since maybe 1979!
The bike is like new and everything else is factory standard so the tape might have been put on at the factory too.
Like it or not, the stuff holds up over time. |

A. The Trek Gitane TDFs came with yellow Bike Ribbon. Not sure about the Super Corsas if they were black white or blue but I sure pirated a bunch of the yellow off tear downs.
B. Bennoto had a guy they brought up to the trade shows in the early 1980s who could wrap a bar perfectly in about eight seconds a side. Absolutely flawless-he just stood there and did it all day long.
In my limited trade show experience only the demo queen from Video Toaster comes close to this guy. (Twenty years later people still speculate about the size of her bladder, she could just sit there on a stool and dish it out for 12-14 hours straight?) |
