I got finished with restoring my 72 Tour de France and have been loving it! Ride it almost every day! I had to sand down some rust and repaint part of the top tube, and it turned out quite well. I also used Coca Cola to take a little bit of rust off some of the parts. Along with a bit of elbow grease and some steel wool (thanks Chas) the bike turned out quite well. The chrome gleams in the sun... Makes me smile!

Cheers, Scott

Very nice, indeed. Great to see another excellent Gitane on the road.

Laughing Great job, Scott. I've long been inclined towards velos like this TDF; a top echelon road bike, but more accessible (in it's time) than many of the fancy road racers of the day.
Bienvenue,
Peter H.
