OK mums and dads, boys and girls. It's time to run up a flag, nail your colours to the wall, and place all bets, so to speak.
Please name your top 5 for this years Tour:
Wisey's pick:
1. Armstrong
2. Contador
3. Menchov
4. Leipheimer
5. Sastre |

If I win the $90 million lotto tonight, then I will go to the Tour this year and paint Fignon's name all over the road. |

No way that wasn't planned. Mick Rodgers dropped his chain twice (shoot the mechanic) in the TT, and is a minute down. Lance taps big George on the shoulder and says hey I've got an idea to put you man back in the race....... He's the smartest bike rider in the peleton.
Great racing. I hope it's like this every day! |

Armstrong had a comment that in essence said other riders should have known what was coming when Columbia made their move. He was smart enough to put himself in a position to take advantage when it came.
Age and experience, right?
Gotta wonder if Armstrong/Contador will play out like Hinault/Lemond. |

You mean the more experienced Vs the strongest ? |

Comparing Armstrong and Hinault.......... tough one to pick. Both super aggressive, both super strong, both very experienced, both very tactically aware.
Comparing LeMond and Contador......... Hmmm, not much comparison really. Contador is very strong ( I'll hold my comments as to why...), but that's about all really. He is immature, has poor race sense, judgement and timing. Lemond, on the other hand, had it all with just a little less experience than Hinault.
Wait till the mountains. Unless LA collapses in a heap, then the only way for Contador to win the Tour will be to attack LA outright.
The TTT will tell us much. Podium picks? Armstrong, A.Schleck, Rodgers(??). |

Yep. I think the correct phrase is old age and treachery. However, it just appeared to me that Lance was much more aware of what was going on at the front of the peloton.
Great TTT today. Can't wait for the mountains. |

I wouldn't want to be one of the two Astana riders who dropped off the pace today in the TTT. Perhaps cost Armstrong the jersey.... |

excellent day of racing ,great drama, this is what the tour needs .just think of the teams like lotto and saxo ,cervello are going to have to give it a little more now. more attacks maybe on the flats?otherwise it might get ugly.lemond hinault, armstrong contador , no talk of doping , great stuff finally. anybody get to watch the podiums? how was hinault to armstrong?hehe |

Re: Hinault / Armstrong
They're pissed at each other lately I think. I read something about Hinault saying in an interview that LA should not be back at the Tour...... I guess tact was never really on Hinault's agenda. LeMond has been quiet though........... |

I was never a big Lance fan, but I find myself rooting for him this year...if only to beat Contador (I don't like Spanish riders for some reason).
All will change in the standings tomorrow. Hopefully, Lance can keep up tomorrow at the finish. |
