Jim,
The seller is asking a fair price for the bike. But... 2 things about it: first, it may be an optical illusion but the forks look a little too straight to me, and second, it's had most of the components changed out.
In the first situation, I would question the seller as to whether the bike was ever crashed and straightened. In the second, the bike originally came with decent components, why were they changed?

If it were all original and located closer to me and... I hadn't taken my vow of No More Bikes (at least until I get rid of a few), I wouldn't mind adding a Criterium to my collection.
Last year on eBay a bare Criterium frame that I was bidding on sold for way too much . It's now probably a gelding with 12" fixie bars!
There is another interesting Gitane on CL:

Seller says that it's a 47cm mid 60's Super Corsa.
I suspect that it's a 50cm (19 1/2" nominal) size frame when measured Center to Top the way Gitane did it in those days. I also question if it's a Super Corsa and not another top of the line Gitane model.
I'd guess that the Super Corsa model was introduced ~1968 when Gitane switched to Mylar foil decals.
