Someone help, I need to know what this is, i have the chance to buy it, but the time is passing.

It is Super Vitus 980, and currently has Shimano 600.

I was hoping it was a super corsa, but it has external cabling... It seems to have features of many different models but i can't find a definitive similar one.

Any help would be greatly, greatly appreciated.

many thanks
Trevor

My guess is that the bike is a 1983 Vuelta - made for the UK market:

Gitane as well as Peugeot, Motobecane and Raleigh made so many variations for different markets that's it's difficult to make anything other than an educated guess as to the pedigree! Rolling Eyes

I would go by just the internal top tube rear brake cable.

The decals date it from late 1983 to 1984. Of course, someone could have put some reproduction 1984 decals on it, but...

All of the components point to a UK Vuelta.

Should be a nice riding bike.

really appreciate your help.

is around $300 a good price for this machine? depending on condition.

Where does the Vuelta sit in the scale of quality. it seems to have fairly high standing in the catalogue pics.

Many thanks

From the pictures, the bike looks like it's in nice condition.

$300 USD is a good price if the condition is as pictured.

The Vuelta is probably close to a Tour de France model - upper mid price range.
