I just bought a Gitane Racer 600, made in France, according to the sticker on the frame. Wheels are Samir Saminox (Made in France), Huret front and rear derailleurs and rear gear cluster, CLB brakes (anybody know what CLB stands for?), Weinmann brake levers, and a strange set of tires, Hutchinson, 600x28 A, 28-541. It's about 2 inches too short for me, but for my first road bike, I'm really excited. Can anybody tell me about this bike? I plan on buying new tires, replace the ugly foam handle bar covering and have a local bike shop do a little tune up for me, but because of it's size I probably won't put a ton of money into it.
Anyway, any input would be greatly appreciated.
