Those thieving jerks have struck my poor little bicycle...I ride a vintage Tour De France from the late 70's. Is there a general size of seatpost for these bicycles or do I need to take her into my LBS for a measurement? (I don't have a car so bringing in an inoperable frame is less easy than one would hope.)
I read on Sheldon Brown that it's a 26.4 but hoped someone out here might give me an opinion as to if this is likely accurate before I place my order.
Cheers!

That's a tough one. 26.4 is a good French standard, but the only way to be positive is to take it in to be measured. But wait for a few more opinions on the matter.
