My wife and I celebrated our 22nd anniversary 10 days ago and as a gift I was presented with this - in English.
Unfortunately, it's not a part for a Gitane bike - but I'll definitely be preoccupied for the next several evenings. |

My copy just came yesterday, and I read the first chapter last night. Funny how he isn't a big fan of Lemond at all....
Also strange how a lot of Europeans (my relatives included) don't understand the American personality AT ALL. They assume if someone is friendly and gregarious, they are being genuine or, as Fignon put it, "not being themselves" (when talking about how Lemond courted the press). |

I had the same initial reaction to that chapter but then, also realized, the were fierce competitors/enemies on the bike. Lemond has many the same feelings about Hinault coursing through his book (Greg Lemond's Complete Book of Cyclig).
It is definitely an iteresting read. |

Finally finished the book. Quite interesting - I never realized the scope of the physical problems he endured. Or how bitter the divorce of top riders from Guimard was (Hinault and Fignon).
My perspective on Fignon has definitely changed. |
