What is the city going to do when that starts to rust? It is going to look like crap...and the metals will turn the surrounding soil into a superfund site.

Fascinating work of art, I wonder how it's held together.

Thanks for the find and post.

I guess what pisses me off is that California has one of the worst economic climates in the US (if not THE worst)...our unemployment rate has skyrocketed...and this idiotic city charges Nissan an "art tax" of $37,000, on top of whatever other requirements and permit fees are necessary...all to build a dealership in town which will then be a source of revenue for the city anyways.

And they wonder why businesses are leaving this state.

Sorry for the political rant....

I've been working in Santa Rosa, Ca all week. I drove past this "monument" on Tuesday. Didn't have much chance to look at it.

Here's the famous bike gate someone built for the entrance to their rural property.

There's a Gitane GS right in the middle.

Looks like he's more successful in finding good frames than many of us! Too bad they're acquired for the sake of welding them into a heap of creativity.

I had to stay at motels in Santa Rosa 3 nights last week. The taxes and fees were about 25% of the nightly rates!

I'll be up there Monday and Tuesday so I'll take a closeup view.

Most of the bikes look like BMX frames and parts - NO LOSS!
