do these forks look typical for the Grand Sport Deluxe? If so, given that I love ridding this bike so much, would I love a TDF as much, or do the different forks really change the equation?
One other question, if you don't mind, are the forks on the GSD the same type of steel as those on the TDF?
Thanks,

Yes, those appear to be the Grand Sport Deluxe forks.
Yes, you would like a Tour de France better. it would be a stiffer, more responsive ride.
No, the forks on the Tour de France are lighter and better than those on the GSD. They are made of Reynolds 531 steel and have simplex forged dropouts. The GSD has seamed forks with stamped dropouts.
The Tour de France is a much better built bike altogether. That isn't to say that your GSD isn't a nice bike. But the two just don't compare.... |

PLS,
Glad to hear you are enjoying "V".
Finding a TdF in such a small size may be difficult but if you do you will likely be able to get it for a good price. Keep your eyes open and have fun on this one.

Another question.... if the TDF has a "stiffer" frame does that equal a less comfortable ride?
Do you guys think it's possible to find a TDF frame this winter in my size, or is that a pipe dream? LOL |

No: "Stiffer" would mean more responsive and better (more stable) through the corners.
Yes...you could find a TdF in your size. In my experience, the small and large sizes usually are available. All of the "middle sizes" have been used up and are harder to find! |
