Hello! I'm new to this website and a proud owner of a Gitane since today! I was told it is a Gitane Professional but looking at the catalog it looks like a 73-74' tour de France. It's been polished and handlebar tape is new (black suede).
It appears to have:
Huret derailiures (Are these original?)
Mafac competition brakes
Ideale 2002 sadde
Weinmann 700c wheels
I am absolutely in love.
Where can I order the proper decals for it? Thanks in advanced!

Hi ,
I am by no means any where close to being an expert or even highly knowledgeable about these bikes, But I'm pretty sure the one you have is pretty much original. If you're looking for decals there is a seller on Ebay,
gts753, who sells a pretty wide range of Gitane decals. His store name is
Cyclomondo. Nice bike |

Oh,
one other thing, if you would like more input, I suggest you post this in the vintage Gitane discussion forum. |
