Under the pressure of audience I think I have to start this topic.

It's a Gitane Track (Columbus Tretubi) from around 1985. I bought this frame last fall. Components are a mix of old and new. Hubs are high flange Normandy tracks from -75 and -76. Cranks are Campy NR (unfortunately road cranks) from 80's or late 70's. Seat post is by Gipiemme and and the seat it self by Selle San Marco (Concor, no repro) also from 80's. All other parts are new and not very special except for 47t Dura-Ace track chain wheel with NJS stamp on it.

Mavic CXP22 rims
DT spokes with aluminum nipples
Nitto bullhorn bars and stem. I also have Nitto track drop bars with 3ttt stem for track use only as I'm occasionally using this bike on road also with bullhorns.
BBB cork bar tape
Normally it has MKS sylvan track pedals with double leather straps
KMC halflink chain, but I'm thinking of changing it for a lighter a bit more track like chain.
I've got 15t, 17t, 18t cogs depending on how do I ride.

Very cool. That is one sharp looking bike. Love the blue saddle.

Hi again.

The winter has been cruel, cold and snowy and all my fast bikes have been inside for a long long time waiting for the the spring. Snow is melting fast and I hope next weeks will be warm so I can finally get this baby out for a ride.

I decided to put my sweetie on a diet and built her a new pair of wheels. 1350 grams (3 pounds) /pair

(Hubs are still the same)

Bike looks nice.

The Columbus Tretubi sticker indicates that the 3 main tube were made with Columbus tubing. They could be the lighter SL .9mm x .6mm tubes or the heavier 1.0mm x .7mm SP tubes.

The forks and rear triangle will probably remain a mystery.

The day I've been waiting for was yesterday. Finally the streets were dry enough to have a test ride with updated cockpit, chain, pedals and wheels+tyres.

She's fast.
