I would like to ask each of you to go to the Forum Index page and look at the names of the most recent posters for each Forum Category.

What do you see? Yes...

Firstly, I'd like to congratulate myself for being the first person to achieve such a feat since Sandranian first opened the site and held the opening post in each category. Wink (ok, don't take that seriously Laughing)

More importantly, I'd like to encourage all of you to post more often. I'm getting tired of seeing my own name for stuff that was posted months ago. I'd really like to see more photos of your bikes, and also your garage/shed/workshop/bat cave or wherever you keep your gitane shrine. I guess we won't post much on gitane pro racing this year, but we can still enjoy being unfairly critical of the soft bunch of nanny boys who have the gall to call themselves pro's. Twisted Evil

Have a great week everyone.

Yep, all good here. The river that we are close to has a different catchment than the brisbane river despite being only 20km away. We were worried on tuesday night as our catchment area had just under 500ml of rain in 24 hours. The river went up about 10 metres just down the road and was only about 2m from breaking the bank. But the rain stopped and the river went down. Unfortunately for those on the Brisbane river, the catchment is much larger and covers about 1/4 of the state. It all feeds into two dams that are the head source for the Bris river. So we had a series of floods above the dams while the dams were already at capacity. They had to have the gates open full to avert a bigger disaster if they broke. So, there was just no way to avoid the flooding in Brisbane. But, it's been nearly 1m lower than they expected. I have a friend who lives right on the river. Haven't heard anything yet, but I expect that their house has gone under with many others. Going to be a smelly city for a while I think.

Funny you should mention that......
There was a report on TV that the Albany Creek shopping centre (1km from our house) had flooded and a crocodile was swimming around the car park. I think someone at the news room got their suburbs mixed up. Laughing No crocs here, and the shops were only flooded with half-wits panic buying every loaf of bread and carton of milk they could get their grubby paws on. Rolling Eyes
