At lunch yesterday with Mel Pinto he got the answer to my question. Did Mel indeed produce the 1970 Gitane Catalog? The answer: YES! Back in the 70s I always thought that it was photographed in France because the backdrop for the Interclub page looked sort of Notre Dame like. Several years ago it was suggested that some of the pictures where taken in Virgina so I figured they were from around the Bay and DC areas! I lived in Seattle for a while in the late 90s. Great city but the sun never shines that much! The photo for the Interclub may have been taken on the U-Dub campus (The University of Washington, UW, commonly called U-Dub). _________________ Chas. He says the Interclub pic is likely "Red Square" at U of W (Dub). The Lake shots, Green Lake, the Ferry and dock shots at Port of Seattle area. He did not know whose house the exercise bikes were in. It was probably Gregg's Cycles that provided the bikes. They have a store a few blocks from Green Lake. Jay _________________ Dance like nobody is watching.
