is this bike worth doing a restore on ? i have a forum member willing to help me out in getting this ,although he probably hates me for taking so long to make up my mind , that and me being a little short on cash right now. the price is dirt cheap but shipping this thing over would be very costly. i would hate to destroy the the original paint but as you can see its very rusty in places. any thoughts on this ? help me out here. and what date do you think it is . im guessing early 60's or 50's. |

DON"T REPAINT IT!
Neat bike.
I like the color combination but old paint that oxidized doesn't clean up well.
In this instance it may be a case of justifiable "pianticide".
Speaking of oxidized, much of the plated steel on the bike is reverting back to iron ore!
It could be very expensive to restore, like a 1935 Nash!
But who am I to questions others passions! |

Definitely a bike for riding around "le ville".
The down tube decal dates it to the mid 60s, maybe 1967?
The 5 speed freewheel plus what looks like a Shimano RD would have been from the 70s. Maybe they were added later.
The tires are probably 650B. |

Very cool! Yes, it's worth it. And I don't agree about not repainting it, as long as you are willing to spend some serious $$$ to have it done right! |
