I haven't worried so much about the retro look. I use Conti Sprinters on two bikes and Yellow Jersey's Servizio Corsa's on a couple of others. The Yellow Jersey ones have the tan stripe and look more retro. |

Just looking into this myself.
I'm a sucker for retro amber walls too. The Conti Giros look like a good budget option. Has anyone tried Vittoria Rallys or are they as crude as i've heard? |

I haven't tried the Rally and haven't heard great things about them. But, then, that doesn't mean much. I have a couple of Continental Giros and they have held up well - both were purchased at essentially new but at swap meet prices.
I took a small rock through the tread on a Yellow Jersey one this spring but it didn't go flat for a couple of days. They tires look nice and have held up well but if you pump them up above 110 psi they ride about as rough as my clinchers.
My Teledyne has some Bontrager Race Lite sew ups that look quite nice.

I would love to find something similar to the old michelin hi-lites. A creamy white coloured sidewall. Can't even find a decent gum colour thus far. The Conti's seem to be the closest. Veloflex make some awesome tubs with traditional colour sidewalls. |
