I'm an absolute novice about bikes, much less Gitane bikes and I'm selling this one for a friend.
1. Where should I sell it?
2. What can I expect to get for it?
3. What should I say about it? I think the owner bought it in the '60's (?)
thanks!

Greetings,
The bike appears to be a very early 1970s Gitane Gran Sport mixte model.
It looks like about a 50cm size frame and has 27 x 1 1/4" tires.
The selling price for a bike like this is about $50-$125 in good condition.
The bike is probably going to need an overhaul to replace all of the old grease in the bearings plus new tires and other items which could run up to $150!
A good place to list it might be a local Craigslist or newspaper.
these bikes sold for ~$80 new.
Good luck. |
