Hi everyone,
I'm from Belgium and new on the forum, i'm hoping some of you fine people could help me figure out what kind of Gitane bike i'm having. this bike was about to get dumped with the trash but i managed to save it and would like to restore it.
since the bike has no stickers left on it and since i'm a total noob when it comes to putting a year and model with the frame i'm hoping someone here could help me out.

there is this worn out "reynolds 531" (in french) sticker on the tubing (i figured that one out from searching and comparing on the internet)
on the bottom of the bike there is this serial nr (i don't know if this might help out)

Its not that i'm to lazy to find out myself i really did try and find as much as possible but like mentioned there are no stickers left on the bike...Anny help would be so much appreciated!!
Is this or was this (back in the day) a high-end bike/model? Anny ideas on what this bike is worth (not that i care all that much really, its just nice to know for myself and a bit about the bikes history)
Also, would it be a stupid thing to turn this bike into a single speed with respect for original paint job and as much original parts as possible.
all help would be really great folks.
