and there's a guy strapping stuff to a red Gitane. Besides mine I've known of four other Gitanes in St. Louis over the past 30 years. Thinking it might be a 84 TdF model I stop by and start talking with him. It was a lower level model but what caught my eye was the rear wheel. He mentioned the only problem he had was the rear wheel falling out about 10 years ago. He tightened the 'nut' with a pair of pliers and put some wire around the 'gear thing' and it's been fine ever since. I couldn't bring myself to tell him the rear quick release was in the full open position.  At least the front QR was correct. |

Man in critical state after bunny hopping a black cat who crossed his path but .. unfortunately eye witnesses state that his back wheel fell off and he then lost control and entered into a head on collision with a school bus.

Well, I've got 1 (~71 TDF)
A ladies Gran Sport Deluxe has been on Craigslist for a couple months.
The seller is asking way too much money.
I've seen a couple others in CL w/in the last year, but everything I've seen or bought is early 70's with TDF being the highest model. |
