I had a great weekend and best birthday gift one could ask for the last few days. My son is home from Florida. 14 mos since I last got a chance to hug this guy. I suprised him with the '72 TdeF "Denver Bronco" theme bike we had discussed back in the summer-fall of '09 before he moved to the Palm Beach Garden area.
Better yet (although it was about 98 degrees and 20-25mph winds) we did get a quick 15 mile blast in this afternoon after I got home from work.
My heart rate monitor was in the 150's and 160's trying to keep up with these 2 rabbits.
Rex, with the '85-'86 Performance, My '70 TdeF, and Ross with the '87 Victoire.
We had stopped by the LBS so Ross could see the new Carbon Fiber (won't mention model and won't hold it against him---I'm also pretty excited about his new road bike) that his younger brother will take possesion of tomorrow afternoon. Our LBS owner announced to his staff as we rolled up " Here comes the Retro Boys " he is quite aware of my passion for vintage steel frames over the decades, and as such, has been giving me a hard time about not getting on Rex's new bike.
I'm just excited that the youngest son has also now discovered the fun and thrill of riding this past year, as my middle son did a few years ago.
Another image of Ross with the '72 TdeF, hope to get the toe clips installed soon as I can find some.
Peter, K. I will try to get some images of the '85-'86 performance ---that is my next project after I clean up the green '72 InterClub for my oldest son this next week.

Well what do you do, when they grow up and leave the nest !!
I'm visiting with my son this evening only to find out that he purchased a new bike. But this time not a Gitane----Hopefully my lessons about riding in care & constant awareness as we are "invisible" will hold him in good sted.
I know he enjoys his '72 TdeF "Bronco Bike"---but it is a fine looking Harley.
Personally, If I was going motorized I've always had a fascination with the R model BMW's. "A blue R-1200 RT" to be exact.
