Those were used on late 60s and very early 70s Tour de France bikes before Gitane switched to Campy Nuovo Tipo hubs. The switch was probably due to availability problems with the Normandy Competition Luxe hubs. Peugeot used them on their PX-10 bikes and probably had more juice with Atom/Normandy/Maillard? They have better quality cones and cups than the Tipo hubs but spare parts where hard to get even back in the day. They polish up nicely! _________________ Chas.
