Here is one that you will never see again. 5 speed "indexed" Simplex Selematic.
Helped or financed by Anvar which was an organisation to promote new and innovative French technology.
At least they could have slanted the body and sprung the top pivot (probably too heavy to spring load)
Worked like older derailleurs with one cable to pull in and another to pull out or release the derailleur to return.
