I have an early 1980s Gitane and I'm not quite sure what it is. I bought it in 1985 or so and it was a "couple" of years old at that time per the guy I bought it from. The frame is made of Super Vitus 971, the derailleurs are Simplex, the crank Spidel (I have the original crank, but I replaced it with a Campy crank in the mid-1990s). I have been told by various people that it is a Criterium, a Tour de France, and a Super Corsa.

Any help would be appreciated.

Gracias.

I love a non-blue Gitane, it's a refreshing change. I'm not sure what you've got but it looks a lot like my BLUE Mad Tricolore...

BTW - is the seatpost bent or is it just an optical illusion?
