Maybe I spent too much in the end but it was fun and the bike rides nice. All bearings were removed, cleaned and/or replaced and greased, and the wheels were trued. The luggage rack and kick stand were removed. Parts added were: new old stock Atom cassette , pedal dust caps, shifter lever hold down cap screws (to replace the machine screws), cables, cable jackets, bar (cloth) tape, crank cotters, and tires. I tried white wall tires (per the 1966 catalog) but they wouldn't stay on the rims at pressure and I didn't find a wide selection of them to try other brands so I settled for the gum walls. Interesting that it has cantilever brakes and the fork top is not chromed either.
