Picked up this bike at a garage sale for $30 US recently. I have or have had vintage Ralieghs, Bridgestones, Fuji, but I am not famialir with this make at all.
Based on the online catalogues my best guess is this is a 1984 Interclub. Even though the pic in the catalogue isn't very clear the decal placement and style look a like. The Vitus 788 tubing, Simplex 410 Deraileur, and Weinmann Brake Set decribed in the catalogue match the bike as well.
I coudn't find any mention of the Interclub after 1984. I saw an Inter in the 87 catalgoue, but it was completely different. Is 1984 the last year they made it?
I haven't decided if I am going to keep it. I want to swap out those tires and ride before I make that decision. Mechanically it is good and I would give it a 7/8 out 10 on appearance. From the catalogue description and components I am guessing this was their low cost, entry level road bike. If I decide to sell it, what would be a fair market value for it?
Thanks in advance for any advise or input on the bike.

It does look a lot like an Interclub.. Some of the complete experts on this forum might be able to nail down the year. To me, it looks post-1980, but that's all I can say.
The tires look nonstandard to me. Interclubs are road bikes - those tires look a little "all terrain" to be the standard issue.
Get some skinnier tires on it and it will be a fun ride. They rate vastly better than an entry level bike, but not a pro racer either. Kind of in the middle of the spectrum.
If I saw one around my area for that price, I'd buy it and keep it!

Can't see the photos on Flickr - can you copy in the image link? My '84 Gitane Sprint has 788 tubing even though the catalog says it should have been something different. |

The tires are not stock. The lady I bought the bike from said her husband got it from a friend a few years ago and replaced the worn tires on it with the AT tires to ride around town. He must not have ridden much, because they have very little wear.
I have some 1-1/4 road tires laying around that I will put on this weekend. I am sure that will make it a much better ride

That's a heck of a buy for $30!!! Definitely an Interclub thanks to the name on the top tube and you're right it's a 1984. |

1 1/4 tires are 27 x 1 1/4". the bike probably uses 700c tires. |
