ive had my eye on this vigorelli
http://www.leboncoin.fr/velos/547433730.htm?ca=7_s
on leboncoin for awhile now . the price has dropped almost every time the seller repost it Wink I noticed that the shifters were in a normal position . then I looked at the 82 catalog
http://www.gitaneusa.com/images/catalog/1982/british/1982-British-catalogue0003.jpg
and noticed that they are in the tight aero position on top of the down tube . then I went and looked at the 1980 catalog and noticed my road profile shifters are in normal position and the 1982 catalog they are in the aero spot on the down tube . I hadn't ever noticed this . I wish we had that elusive 81 catalog.

I think on the smaller frame sizes, the shifters would have been too close to the top tube when in the aero position so they were put on the side like most bikes. This Vigorelli has the shifters on the side for that reason.

Here is a little one with shifters on the side because of lack of space.

Really way too much money though. By checking his stuff for sale you will find the other parts stripped off this bike..if fact I seem to remember the whole bike for sale awhile back.

cool frenchbuilt , I looked again at the pics I posted and the two frames kinda look the same size. I can see on the one you posted where they couldn't put the aero shifters on it because of the frame size, but not on the two I referenced. they are basically the same size. the only thing I can think of is that they wanted to take advantage of the upcoming aero craze that the industry went thru . where were the shifter boses on your vigorelli's?
